Canada Greener Home Grant - from $125 to $5,000

The Canada Greener Home Grant is an initiative launched by the federal government in May 2021, aimed at providing financial assistance to homeowners who wish to replace their old windows and doors with energy efficient alternatives. Through this initiative, homeowners can receive up to $5,000 in financial assistance to make their homes more environmentally friendly, while also saving money on energy bills. This grant is part of the government’s larger efforts to encourage Canadians to adopt more sustainable practices and reduce their carbon footprint. By promoting the replacement of old and inefficient windows and doors, the government aims to create a more energy-efficient Canada and improve air quality for all. Homeowners can apply for the Canada Greener Home Grant through the Natural Resources Canada website.

The biggest loan you can get depends on what work you want to get done and how much it will cost. There is a limit on the amount of the loan you can get that follows normal practices. Your loan amount may be less than the amount you were quoted, and you will be responsible for the difference.

Only one loan is available for each home and homeowner. You can only use the loan to pay for products or work that is recommended by an energy advisor, and qualifies for the grant.

You can get some funds before work starts to pay for the work. The rest of the loan will only be issued after the work is done, and an inspection proves it was done right.
